Who is behind BRG?

We are a family business, Black Rock Grill was started in 2005 by Debbie & Peter Hatter

Prior to setting up Black Rock Grill, we operated  hotels, restaurants and pubs in many worldwide locations where we had the opportunity to formulate their ideas into the present concept.

We are particularly keen to ensure that operators of Black Rock Grill have equipment that is ‘fit for purpose’ and certified to be safe for employees and customers under all working conditions.

Black Rock Grill Limited is a UK registered private company operating from purpose- built premises in Hampshire, UK.

Black Rock Grill USA Inc was registered in Delaware USA in 2014 and is our associated company operating out of Miami, Florida to fulfil the growing demand of our great brand.

Who are your clients?

Since its launch in 2005, over 30,000 Black Rock Grill systems have been installed worldwide.

Around 8000 are in the UK with the rest in USA, India, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Romania, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Nigeria, India, Costa Rica, Australia, Singapore, Canada, France, Greece, Malta and 38 other countries.

Many Black Rock Grills are in stand-alone restaurants (including Japanese, Korean and Indian) but they are also in hotels, pubs, golf clubs, nightclubs, bowling alleys, food courts and on cruise ships and passenger ferries.

Cruise Lines, Silverseas and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines are giving cruise passengers a Black Rock Grill option on many of their cruise ships.

What do they say about you?

When we installed a 30 rock system in 2005 we were not doing a great deal of food trade. Our business has since boomed and we have been able to add an extension to the kitchen and a conservatory with 25 seats to cope with the extra demand. Black Rock Grill accounts for most of our food trade, and we upgraded to a 60 rock system in April 2009 to cope with the continuing demand.

What exactly is Black Rock Grill?

Black Rock Grill is a concept that allows customers to take control of their own meal by cooking it themselves at the table. The food is cooked at high temperature on a volcanic rock, which itself has been heated to over 440 degrees Celsius /824 Fahrenheit in a specially designed and purpose-built oven.

The Black Rock Grill Professional system is sold a complete package to ensure you the operator are completely compliant with Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements. We offer the Black Rock Grill set up in 3 oven sizes and two different Brands; The ROXY series and The BR series.

If you are enhancing your current offer, whether you choose the ROXY or The BR series we will have the right package at the right price and the right quantity of rocks to suit your business ambitions.

What sort of food can be cooked on BRG?

One of the major benefits of the Black Rock Grill is that you can use high quality, high margin ingredients. Fish and meat work the best and you can use beef as well as more exotic ingredients such as kangaroo and ostrich.

Black Rock Grill is used in a whole range of different styles of restaurant, and can be adapted to different ethnic styles of food and marinades including Indian, Mediterranean, Asian, Fusion and Arabic to name but a few.

What is the ROI?

Black Rock Grill is a high quality dining product so operators are able to charge a premium on meals served on the rock; this tends to have a beneficial effect on the food margin.

If you serve an extra 8 meals a day (assuming that this is an 8oz steak) then the payback time on your total outlay for Black Rock Grill system could be around 2 to 3 months.

There are some different options on platters, including 5 porcelain styles and 4 bamboo styles.

Our volcanic rocks are sourced from Central Africa. The porcelain platters are specially manufactured in China and the ovens are purpose built in the UK to exacting compliance standards.

How can we pay for our Black Rock Grill Set-Up?

We ask for payment in advance before we ship your order. Payment can be made by bank transfer, credit card, paypal and all other online payment methods.

What organisations have checked your safety?

Health and safety are two of our major concerns. We go out of our way to ensure that our ovens comply with the latest legislation concerning work equipment. We are constantly updating and improving our equipment:

ANSI: Compliance to ANSI signifies that the design and manufacture procedures used are in line with the American National Standards and meet the Institutes essential requirements for openness, balance, consensus and due process.

NSF: NSF International is The Public Health and Safety Company, providing public health and safety risk management solutions to companies, governments and consumers around the world. Compliance means design, manufacture and materials are approved by NSF International.

CESA: Members undertake to operate to a code of conduct that covers the manufacture, supply, installation and after sales service that buyers can expect from members of CESA. The CESA code ensures that any products for sale within the EU will be marked to confirm that they comply with relevant European directives.

IP44: Our ovens have been accredited with the international standard for Ingress Protection against solids smaller than 1mm and protection against water spray from any direction. This is an essential requirement for Marine Compliant equipment.

CE: The CE marking certifies that a product has met EU consumer safety, health or environmental requirements.

What are the export and shipping arrangements?

All exports are expertly packed in wooden crates to ensure that your Black Rock Grill system arrives in good condition. Consignments to the USA, Canada, Caribbean, Central & South America are dispatched from our office in Miami FL. Other consignments are sent on a CIF basis to your nearest port, from where you will need to arrange customs clearance and delivery at your cost. Within the EC we can usually arrange shipping door-to-door.

What ongoing support do you give?

Our BRSeries ovens have a 5 Year Warranty our ROXY ovens have a 1 Year Warranty and the electrical components within the oven are guaranteed for 12 months. Should a malfunction occur we hold parts and engineers are generally able to be on-site within 48 hours.

All exports can include a spare part kit but you will need to arrange your own engineer, the cost of which we will reimburse, so long as it is within the respective warranty period.

Our UK test kitchen constantly trials and develops new and exciting menu ideas and we are happy to pass on ideas developed by other Black Rock Grill users.

Readily available point of sale material includes banners, table talkers, A2 posters and Black Rock Grill imagery for your own promotional leaflets. We can supply at your cost black boards, exterior light boxes and swing signs.
